I have a bath tub: How does the Bath Helper shower transfer System work?

The Bath Helper has a simple snap together assembly and comes with easy to use instructions.

You can transfer onto the Shower Helper from outside the bathroom using the wheelchair mode

The fold up arms gives you many options for transfer and improved caregiver access for support during transfer.

The swivel seat can be locked every 90 degrees to create a zero gap transfer from the bed or wheel chair.

1 The footrest is fully retractable providing additional options. Don’t use it as a step.

2 Guide the user into the bathroom while seated.  Be sure to transport going forward for maximum stability.

The roll over commode feature can save additional transfers during toileting.

The fold up arms gives you many options for transfer and improved caregiver access for support.

3 Place the bath track inside the bath with the bridge connected. The bath track is supported by four feet that sit inside the tub. These are designed to find the right angle and hold the chair securely in position.Nothing rests on the bath thresholds which protects the tub from being damaged.

In particularly tight bathrooms you may require a longer bridge to transfer from an “over the commode” position into the bath tub. Sisus has custom build capabilities in these instances.

4 Connect the transfer base to the bath track and bridge with a simple latch mechanism.

5 Release the chair to slide into the shower using the swivel function as required for maneuverability.

6 Disconnect the bridge and transfer base. This will allow you to close the shower curtain or door! No water management issues!!

7 If the user has good upper body ability they can self assist the transfer into the bath as folllows

8 Mount the chair safely. Use the fold up arms as necessary.

9 Press the “slide release” and start the chair to roll towards the bath. The slide and swivel mechanisms are bearing less and resultantly highly durable. The high grade aluminum and stainless steel components will be rust free for life.

10 Use a grab bar or pull the track to move into the bath tub.

You will require some leg strength to pull your legs over the threshold.

Disconnect the bridge and close the curtain.

So many caregivers get injured over time from assisting with too many and dangerous bathroom transfers. We recommend taking care of yourself as well as your loved one by giving them a shower with a Shower Helper.
