How does it work?

The Shower Helper Shower Transfer System: How it works

The Shower Helper has a simple snap together assembly and
comes with easy to use instructions

1 You can transfer onto the Shower Helper from outside the bathroom using the wheelchair mode

The compact profile of the chair is designed to go through doorways as narrow as 24”

The Shower Helper seat is 24.5-25.5” high.

This is set to match a bed height and can make transfer off easier.

Engage all 4 high quality braked 5” castors before transfer on.  These are designed to roll over up to 0.5 inch thresholds.

The fold up arms gives you many options for transfer and improved caregiver access for support.

The swivel seat can be locked every 90 degrees to create a zero gap transfer from the bed or wheel chair

The retractable footrest should be extended to support the feet. Don’t use it as a step.

Place the shower track inside the shower with the bridge connected.  This is non-permanent and will allow other members of the family to use the shower as normal

Guide the user into the bathroom while seated and connect to the shower track.  Be sure to transport going forward for maximum stability.

2 The Shower Helper also features a bucket commode which can be used to eliminate additional transfers for toileting.

It does not roll over the existing commode (the Bath Helper Shower Transfer System does).

Release the chair to slide over the shower threshold and into the shower by depressing a foot release button.

The unique swivel-function affords excellent maneuverability. Because the footrest is mounted above the track, the Shower Helper can swivel 360 degrees at any time. This feature allows the Shower Helper to work in showers as small as 28”x28”!

A minimum of 23.5” clearance is required to get into the shower. Often replacing the door with a shower curtain will create more room.

Disconnect the bridge with transfer base attached. This is a simple latch release system.

Once disconnected, the Shower Helper sits inside the shower and allows you to close the shower curtain or door. The suction cup feet provide a stable platform for the user in combination with the footprint size and gravity.

3 A safety catch holds the Shower Helper inside the shower until depressed with a foot.

So many caregivers get injured over time from assisting with too many and dangerous bathroom transfers. We recommend taking care of yourself as well as your loved one by giving them a shower with a Shower Helper.
